Every year the club holds it's famous Knighthood Competition, where the winner becomes a Knight of the Green, and is known as a 'sir' to all the fellow members in the club.

The competition is very difficult to win, and once you have won it, you cannot re-enter.

It's certainly worth watching this competition, as all the knights officiate the contest dressed in their Top hat, and frocked tails suits.  The Mayor of Southampton is usually invited to start the contest.
